It allows you to create and send invoices to clients with your own domain name and brand. You can install all of them with the following command:<\/p>\n<pre>apt-get install nginx mariadb-server php php-zip php-bcmath php-fpm php-cli php-common php-curl php-gd php-mysql php-xml php-mbstring unzip -y<\/pre>\n<p>Once all the packages are installed, stop the Apache service, start the Nginx and MariaDB services if they are not already started.<\/p>\n<pre>systemctl stop apache2\r\nsystemctl start nginx\r\nsystemctl start mariadb<\/pre>\n<h2 id=\"step-2-create-a-database\">Step 2 \u2013 Create a Database<\/h2>\n<p>Next, you will need to create a database and a user for Invoice Ninja. First, log in to MariaDB with the following command:<\/p>\n<pre>mysql<\/pre>\n<p>Once connected, create a database and a user with the following command:<\/p>\n<pre>CREATE DATABASE greencloudninja;\r\nGRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON greencloudninja.* TO 'greencloudninja'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'Green@12345';<\/pre>\n<p>Next, flush the privileges and exit from MariaDB with the following command:<\/p>\n<pre>FLUSH PRIVILEGES;\r\nEXIT;<\/pre>\n<h2 id=\"step-3-download-invoice-ninja\">Step 3 \u2013 Download Invoice Ninja<\/h2>\n<p>Next, download the latest version of Invoice Ninja with the following command:<\/p>\n<pre>wget https:\/\/github.com\/invoiceninja\/invoiceninja\/releases\/download\/v5.11.72\/invoiceninja.tar.gz<\/pre>\n<p>Once the download is completed, extract the downloaded file to the Nginx root directory:<\/p>\n<pre>cd \/var\/www\/html\r\nmv ~\/invoiceninja.tar.gz \/var\/www\/html\/\r\ntar -xvzf invoiceninja.tar.gz<\/pre>\n<p>Next, copy the example environment file.<\/p>\n<pre>cp .env.example .env<\/pre>\n<p>Next, change the ownership of the invoiceninja directory to www-data:<\/p>\n<pre>chown -R www-data:www-data \/var\/www\/html\/<\/pre>\n<p>Set proper permissions.<\/p>\n<pre>chmod -R 775 *<\/pre>\n<h2 id=\"step-4-configure-nginx-for-invoice-ninja\">Step 4 \u2013 Configure Nginx for Invoice Ninja<\/h2>\n<p>Next, you will need to create an Nginx virtual host configuration file for Invoice Ninja.<\/p>\n<p>You can create it with the following command:<\/p>\n<pre>nano \/etc\/nginx\/conf.d\/ninja.conf<\/pre>\n<p>Add the following lines:<\/p>\n<pre>server {\r\n    listen 80;\r\n    server_name greencloudinvoiceninja.example.net;\r\n\r\n    root \/var\/www\/html\/public;\r\n    index index.php index.html index.htm;\r\n\r\n    client_max_body_size 20M;\r\n    charset utf-8;\r\n\r\n    access_log \/var\/log\/nginx\/invoiceninja.access.log;\r\n    error_log \/var\/log\/nginx\/invoiceninja.error.log;\r\n\r\n    gzip on;\r\n    gzip_types application\/javascript application\/x-javascript text\/javascript text\/plain application\/xml application\/json;\r\n    gzip_proxied no-cache no-store private expired auth;\r\n    gzip_min_length 1000;\r\n\r\n    location \/ {\r\n        try_files $uri $uri\/ \/index.php?$query_string;\r\n    }\r\n\r\n    if (!-e $request_filename) {\r\n        rewrite ^(.+)$ \/index.php?q= last;\r\n    }\r\n\r\n    location ~ \\.php$ {\r\n        fastcgi_split_path_info ^(.+\\.php)(\/.+)$;\r\n        fastcgi_pass unix:\/run\/php\/php8.2-fpm.sock;\r\n        fastcgi_index index.php;\r\n        include fastcgi_params;\r\n        fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name;\r\n        fastcgi_intercept_errors off;\r\n        fastcgi_buffer_size 16k;\r\n        fastcgi_buffers 4 16k;\r\n    }\r\n\r\n}\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>Save and close the file, then verify the Nginx for any syntax errors with the following command:<\/p>\n<pre>nginx -t<\/pre>\n<p>Finally, restart the Nginx service to apply the changes:<\/p>\n<pre>systemctl restart nginx<\/pre>\n<h3 id=\"secure-owncloud-with-https\">Secure ownCloud with HTTPS<\/h3>\n<p>Install Certbot and the Nginx plugin.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block\">\n<div id=\"code-block-25\">\n<div class=\"highlight\">\n<pre>apt install certbot python3-certbot-nginx -y\r\n<\/pre>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Generate and apply a TLS certificate.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block\">\n<div id=\"code-block-26\">\n<div class=\"highlight\">\n<pre>certbot --nginx -d <span class=\"na\"><code>greencloudinvoiceninja.example.net<\/code><\/span><\/pre>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Certbot will automatically edit your Nginx config to enable HTTPS.<br \/>\n<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-39887\" src=\"https:\/\/green.cloud\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Screenshot_1-9.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1013\" height=\"759\" srcset=\"https:\/\/green.cloud\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Screenshot_1-9.png 1013w, https:\/\/green.cloud\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Screenshot_1-9-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/green.cloud\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Screenshot_1-9-768x575.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1013px) 100vw, 1013px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"step-5-access-invoice-ninja\">Step 5 \u2013 Access Invoice Ninja<\/h2>\n<p>Now access Invoice Ninja from the browser. Once done with installation, key in your server hostname (<mark class=\"has-inline-color\">http:\/\/greencloudinvoiceninja.example.net<\/mark>) or (<mark class=\"has-inline-color\">http:\/\/your_server_ip<\/mark>)on your browser to access Invoice Ninja and finish up the setup. Agree to the terms of service and privacy policy and click \u2018<em>submit<\/em>\u2019 at the bottom of the page.
