But what if you can\u2019t access wp-admin to deactivate them?<\/p>\n<p>In this article, we will show you how to easily deactivate all WordPress plugins when you are not able to access the wp-admin area.<\/p>\n<p>If you prefer written instructions or want to move at your own pace, then continue reading the instructions below.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"aioseo-method-2-deactivate-all-plugins-using-phpmyadmin\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Deactivate All Plugins Using phpMyAdmin<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The FTP method is definitely easier, in our opinion. However, you can also deactivate all WordPress plugins using\u00a0phpMyAdmin.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wpb-alert style-yellow\">\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong>\u00a0Before you do anything, please\u00a0make a complete database backup. This will come in handy if anything goes wrong.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Next, you will need to log in to your web hosting dashboard. In this example, we are showing you a cPanel dashboard. Your hosting account\u2019s dashboard may look different.<\/p>\n<p>You will need to click the \u2018phpMyAdmin\u2019 icon under the Databases section.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/green.cloud\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Screenshot_1-4.png\" alt=\".deb open with archive manager\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>This will launch phpMyAdmin in a new browser window.<\/p>\n<p>You will need to select your WordPress database if it is not already selected. After that, you will be able to see WordPress database tables.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/green.cloud\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Screenshot_2-4.png\" alt=\".deb open with archive manager\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>As you can see, all tables in the database have\u00a0<code>wp_<\/code>\u00a0prefix before the table name. Your tables may have a different\u00a0database prefix.<\/p>\n<p>You need to click on the\u00a0<code>wp_options<\/code>\u00a0table. Inside the\u00a0<code>wp_options table<\/code>, you will see rows of different options. Find the option \u2018active_plugins\u2019 and then click on the \u2018Edit\u2019 link next to it.
